EcoSPARK® 2 Ignition Coil Driver, Reduced Power Consumption and Enhanced Ignition IGBT Performance
Published2012.05.31 11:01To meet stringent emissions and high fuel efficiency requirements for current and future ignition systems, automotive designers require higher-performance ignition coil driver technology. To help designers meet these requirements, Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS) has launched the latest generation of ignition IGBTs that reduce power consumption with a smaller footprint. The EcoSPARK® 2, FGD3040G2, and FDG3440G2 ignition coil drivers provide VSAT performance reduced by up to 20% without significantly lowering Self-Clamping Inductive Switching (SCIS) energy. These optimized features reduce power consumption and lower heatsink requirements and operating junction temperatures.
The EcoSPARK 2 ignition coil driver is also available as a DPAK, supporting a D2PAK replacement solution that achieves the same VSAT characteristics while reducing the form factor. Both devices support advanced multi-spark high-current ignition systems for lean burn requirements. More information and sample orders can be found at the following site.

ST Launches 75V Drive IC Targeting 48V Industrial Motor Driving
