FBI 'IoT Security Warning': Hacking Devices Used in Cybercrime

The U.S. business magazine Forbes recently reported that Snapchat's AR backend generated $281 million in advertising revenue in the fourth quarter of last year, a 74% increase from the previous year, creating remarkable value for the company.
According to Snapchat, half of the U.S. population aged 13 to 34 is using the company's AR lenses.
The recent explosive and steady growth of AR audio, such as voice and chatbots, is observed to demonstrate consumers' desire to interact with computing devices in a natural way.
Forbes observed, “Snapchat’s AR lenses are more than just fun,” adding that “while demonstrating the company’s overall AR strategy, they will have a significant impact on the future of social media.” He added, “Companies like Amazon have a clear financial motivation to provide powerful voice capabilities to their platforms,” explaining that they are “integrating a fully implemented pipeline that deeply connects consumers, advertisers, and retailers.”

FBI 'IT Security Warning': Hacked Devices Used in Cybercrime
The U.S. FBI has issued a warning regarding IoT (Internet of Things) security.
The U.S. information technology media outlet ZDNet recently reported on an FBI warning that hacked internet devices, such as routers, IP cameras, smart locks, and connected doors, are being used in cybercrime.
In this warning, the FBI detailed the risks of unsecured smart devices, including the dangers of unsecured smart devices, how intruders engage in malicious behavior, how intruders gain access for criminal purposes, and how to remain anonymous.
In particular, it has been found that foreign hackers can completely conceal the actual location of their attacks by using hacked devices.
The FBI advised, “To prevent IoT devices from being exploited by intruders, smart products should be rebooted regularly,” adding, “because most malicious software is removed and not stored in memory when the device is rebooted.”
