June 4, 2012 – Calxeda, Inc. today announced the formation of Calxeda Asia Ltd., its local subsidiary in Asia, and the establishment of a distribution network across the region through Macnica Group and its subsidiaries Galaxy Far East Corporation, Cytech Technology Limited, and Altima Corporation. This expansion in Asia will support Calxeda’s growing AP business with direct technical and sales support for Calxeda’s ARM-based EnergyCore™ server-on-chip (SoC) solution and its ready-to-use EnergyCard multi-node clusters. EnergyCore clusters can deliver the same data throughput as traditional solutions while using up to 10x less power, and can reduce the cost of data center workloads such as Web 2.0, cloud, and data-intensive computing by up to 50%. Calxeda, a leader in low-power servers, showcased a Calxeda cluster running Ubuntu 12.04 and select workloads at the Ubuntu Developer's Summit in Oakland, California in May.

Marknica will support Calxeda through Galaxy Far East Corporation in Taiwan, Cytec Technology in China, Hong Kong and Singapore, and Altima Corporation in Japan.

Calxeda will showcase its real-time EnergyCore cluster, based on ARM technology, at Computex 2012, which opens on June 5th.
