Moxa has developed an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) gateway that integrates with Microsoft's Azure IoT Edge, accelerating its strategy to integrate operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT).

By deploying Azure IoT Edge on Moxa's IIoT gateways, Microsoft Azure customers can extend their IT infrastructure and leverage a convenient solution to support OT data connectivity in industrial applications. The IIoT gateways securely and reliably transmit field data to the cloud for analysis and monitoring, leveraging the various benefits of Azure IoT Edge to bring intelligence to field services.

Integrating Azure IoT Edge with Moxa's IIoT gateway offers several benefits, especially for customers running on Linux platforms. Key benefits include secure remote connectivity for deployment in remote locations, connectivity for cloud data sharing during retrofit or improvement projects for existing systems, and device management and long-term product lifecycle management to help customers deploy, scale, and maintain IIoT applications.

Moxa brings IIoT expertise and 30 years of experience in connected OT. Security features for edge devices focused on network connectivity are based on TPM 2.0 and IEC 62443-4-2.
