TI Korea (CEO Kent Jeon, www.ti.com/ww/kr) June 5, 2012 – TI announced two fully integrated LED driver micromodules (product names: TPS92550, TPS92551) that eliminate complex layout design challenges and external component requirements commonly encountered in LED driver design. The TPS92550 and TPS92551, 450mA-class DC/DC LED driver modules, are the industry's first to integrate all required power and passive circuits into a single IC package, capable of delivering up to 23W of power to LEDs. The 14W TPS92550 and 23W TPS92551, which can replace four or more components with just one module, are constant-current buck LED driver modules that virtually eliminate the need for power supply design resources, dramatically simplifying the component procurement process. When used together with TI's WEBENCH® LED architecture, lighting designers can rapidly design power management circuits with minimal components required to drive 18 LEDs at maximum power efficiency of 96%.
