Schneider Unveils New Version of Interoperable Process Automation System

Schneider Electric has released the latest version of 'EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS Control Software 7.1'.
The latest version helps improve efficiency, security, reliability, and profitability in real-time across customer assets and operations. It features enhanced functionality and an strengthened HMI, expanding the capabilities of EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS and simplifying engineering to improve the user experience.
EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS is Schneider's open and interoperable process automation system. It provides accurate and effective control for operational profitability in manufacturing environments. This process control system delivers tangible improvements in operational profitability and a future-proof architecture. Furthermore, as a high-capacity and high-availability control processor, it features purpose-built I/O, intuitive role-based engineering tools, and enhanced intuitive operation capabilities.
The latest version ensures cybersecurity. It also runs on Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 to maximize flexibility. You can mix Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 10 on the same system, allowing you to flexibly determine the upgrade schedule and timing. In addition, individual sections of the factory can be upgraded in the desired order and at the desired speed to best suit the factory production schedule.
The newly updated features are as follows. First, the startup and restart times of EcoStruxure Field Device Expert are reduced, and the intelligent commissioning wizard automates the HART device commissioning and documentation processes. Additionally, the new HMI bulk graphics editor improves quality and reduces time during testing. In particular, the ability to duplicate hundreds of displays reduces manpower and improves quality. Furthermore, enhanced control editor activity monitoring and real-time asset status monitoring capabilities increase efficiency and reliability.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers.
