Launch of Highly Integrated Ultrasonic Signal Regulator for Vehicle Parking Distance Applications
TI Korea (CEO Kent Jeon, www.ti.com/ww/kr ) June 7, 2012 – TI announced a fully integrated, programmable solution (Product Name: PGA450-Q1) for driving ultrasonic transducers in vehicle parking distance, blind spot detection, or similar object recognition applications. This product can calculate the distance between the transducer and an object by processing echo signals through a highly configurable burst generator, a low-noise amplifier, and a 12-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC. In addition, the PGA450-Q1 integrates a physical layer for LIN 2.1 communication, providing flexibility in implementing all necessary communication protocols. Features and Advantages of the PGA450-Q1
• ASSP (Application Specific Standard Product): By economically providing the same functionality to all customers as an ASSP, it replaces large-scale discrete-based systems, thereby shortening design cycles and reducing NRE (non-recurring engineering) costs because it does not require IP or market contracts.
• Fully integrated system-on-chip: Provides a cost and space-optimized solution as it includes all system blocks, such as regulators, dual NMOS low-side drivers, oscillators, and LIN 2.1 physical interfaces and protocols for interfacing.

The PGA450Q1EVM is provided for the rapid evaluation of the PGA450-Q1. The evaluation module is priced at $99.00 and includes a cable, a graphical user interface (GUI), and example firmware that can be used with the provided sensors.

PGA450-Q1 is available in a TSSOP-28 package and is currently being offered at $2.60 per unit based on a supply of 1,000 units.
