LG Electronics Vice Chairman Cho Sung-jin, CEO of LG Electronics, visited ZKW's headquarters in Wieselberg, Austria, on the 5th to welcome and encourage the company's arrival as a member of the LG family. LG Electronics acquired ZKW on August 3rd.

The visit was attended by approximately 10 executives, including Vice Chairman Cho, CFO Jeong Do-hyun, and VC Business Division Head Lee Woo-jong, along with approximately 2,000 local employees. LG Electronics executives toured the factory, inspected production lines, and shared LG Electronics' vision with employees.

Vice Chairman Cho emphasized at the event, “ZKW will be the central axis of this great journey,” and “Wieselberg is the most important base for this journey.” He also pledged to establish a new milestone in history by promising autonomous management and continuous investment based on mutual trust and respect, and by building on LG's first-class DNA.
ZKW also announced a new red logo on this day, signifying a new start with LG Electronics.

Local executives and employees also welcomed the new vision and blueprint. ZKW CEO Oliver Schubert responded, "Together with LG, we will write a new chapter of success in the global market based on fairness and trust."

Founded in 1938, ZKW is a leading manufacturer of premium automotive headlamps, celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. The company possesses the technological prowess to be the first in the world to mass-produce premium headlamps equipped with next-generation light sources, such as high-brightness LED daytime running lamps and laser headlamps.

In April, LG Electronics signed a contract to acquire a 70% stake in ZKW for €770 million (approximately KRW 1.0108 trillion), following a board meeting. The acquisition was successfully completed on the 3rd of last month. The company announced plans to strengthen its automotive components portfolio based on its global business network and differentiated IT technologies, as well as lead the future automotive components market by developing next-generation convergence products.

LG Electronics plans to lead the future automotive parts market by strengthening its investment in next-generation innovative products, such as laser scanning headlamps being developed by ZKW and high-resolution matrix LED headlamps with over 1,000 pixels.
