Schneider Electric has released version 11.3 of its safety system, EcoStruxure Triconex, called Triconex Tricon CX.

This system is a triple-redundancy safety system equipped with robust cybersecurity features. It complies with the international standard IEC 62443 and is certified by TÜV Rheinland, making it applicable to safety applications up to Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL 3). In addition, it has also received ISASecure EDSA Level-1 certification, a cybersecurity certification for control, safety, and system components.

Tricon CX version 11.3 is applicable to oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, power generation, and other high-risk industries, and meets stringent requirements for safety, cybersecurity, risk mitigation, and operational continuity.

Tricon CX version 11.3 is composed of core components of EcoStruxure Plant, Schneider Electric’s architecture and platform for industrial sites, and provides flexibility over its lifespan along with high performance and high capacity characteristics.

In addition, it leverages the field-proven safety, availability, and security features of the EcoStruxure Triconex safety system. It provides best-in-class availability and lifespan performance for safety-critical applications and includes emergency shutdown, fire and gas, burner management, high-integrity pressure protection, and critical control functions.

Tricon CX Version 11.3 incorporates the compact design of the Tricon CX to reduce the original Tricon form factor by up to 50%, making it ideal for high-risk or extreme environments where a small footprint is required. Additionally, the system is scalable. It can handle over 750,000 physical I/O points and utilizes the same programming tools as the original Tricon. This simplifies engineering, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance, enabling continuous and safe operation for decades. Therefore, current users can protect their existing Tricon investment value (CAPEX) and expand as needed without interrupting operations.

New Tricon CX version 11.3 users can enjoy the benefits of the most powerful safety system, which makes full use of the proven Tricon and Trident Safety Integrity Level 3 systems, along with future scalability.
