Safely improve content transmission quality at high speeds
As more traffic moves from private networks to the public internet, high-performance networks and distributed infrastructure become essential to maintain a high-quality user experience. A key solution for this is "edge cloud computing." Edge cloud computing ensures quality of service by providing computing capabilities close to users or devices, without requiring content to be transferred to a central processing unit.

New low-latency applications like IoT, gaming, and virtual reality (VR) require powerful computing capabilities at the network edge. Limelight Networks announced on the 24th that it is collaborating with Ericsson to provide fast, secure, high-quality content delivery and edge cloud services based on the Ericsson Unified Delivery Network (UDN) Edge Cloud Platform, an edge cloud delivery network.

Ericsson is working with global telecommunications service providers and service providers to build the Ericsson UDN Edge Cloud Platform, a web-scale edge transport network, to deliver robust network performance and enhance cost efficiency. Content Delivery is the first application built on the UDN platform.

This agreement will enable Limelight to enhance its global delivery capabilities and expand its delivery capacity by integrating its content delivery technology into the Ericsson UDN Edge Cloud platform.
