June 18 – CEVA (NASDAQ:CEVA), a leading licensing company for Silicon Intellectual Property (SIP) platform solutions and DSP cores, today released a TD-SCDMA software library fully optimized for the CEVA-XC DSP core family, including the recently announced CEVA-XC4000 series.
This demonstrates the value and flexibility of a software-based approach in implementing next-generation multimode modems by newly adding a TD-SCDMA library to the existing CEVA-XC SDR (Software-Defined Radio) platform.
By supporting HSPA, HSPA+, LTE, TD-LTE, LTE-A, TD-LTE-A, and TD-SCDMA in software, CEVA-XC provides a universal modem platform that meets the demands of semiconductor manufacturers and mobile phone OEMs who want their designs to be widely utilized by various carriers worldwide. To comply with mandatory compliance requirements for modem designs targeting China Mobile, the world's largest wireless operator, the inclusion of TD-SCDMA, the 3G wireless standard for the Chinese region, is essential.

The TD-SCDMA library has already been implemented in an LTE multimode modem from a leading baseband vendor.

CEVA’s TD-SCDMA software library supports the latest TD-SCDMA technology compliant with 3GPP Rel-9 worst-case conditions and allows customers to configure interleavers, rate matching, modulation types (8PSK, QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM), HARQ, and others as needed. This library has received preliminary certification with Synopsys SPW tools and enables faster system design by utilizing Synopsys’ DSP model library.
