Belonging to Fairchild’s FPS™ Green Mode power switch device family, the FSL206MRx series is designed for use in high-performance offline SMPS where external components must be minimized. As a highly integrated PWM controller incorporating avalanche-resistant SenseFETs, these devices eliminate the need for auxiliary bias windings by integrating an internal regulator and include built-in high-voltage startup and comprehensive protection circuitry, thereby saving board space and lowering the bill of material (BOM) costs.
Designed to achieve high efficiency and low power consumption using burst mode operation, the FSL206MRN and FSL206MRL can achieve power loss of up to 150mW without the bias winding and up to 25mW with the bias winding when the input voltage is 265VAC under no-load conditions. Additionally, the FSL206MRx series is supported by Fairchild’s Power Supply WebDesigner (PSW), a convenient and powerful online design tool that allows designers to customize their designs in greater detail without the need to build bench prototypes.
