On the 20th, Cognex launched the portable barcode reader 'DataMan 8070' series.
The DataMAN 8070 series consists of two models, the 8072ER and the 8072V. The DataMAN 8072ER (Extended Range) can read codes from a distance of up to 8m, and the DataMAN 8072V (Verifier) is the only product among code inspection equipment on the market that satisfies the International Organization for Standardization's illumination conditions (ISO/IEC 15415, ISO/IEC TR 29158 - AIM DPM).

The 8072ER is designed to read 1D and 2D label codes from a distance of up to 8 meters, making it suitable for the logistics industry. Its long reading range allows it to scan labels on pallets suspended from ceilings or on slips, while its robust design enables use in harsh environments such as factories and warehouses. Additionally, it supports field-replaceable communication modules, allowing for seamless network connectivity simply by changing the module, even if the network communication method changes.

The 8072V is a specialized 2D code quality inspection device that can be usefully utilized in industries requiring code verification upon product delivery. Equipped with a high-speed processing engine and a high-resolution camera, it can read even small and tricky codes, and with a fixed stand, it can easily verify codes printed or engraved on rough, curved, or even recessed surfaces, and it also offers high mobility with a handheld design that maximizes ease of use.

The ISO/IEC TR 29158 (AIM DPM) protocol, which is the evaluation standard for Direct Part Mark (DPM) codes of the ISO International Organization for Standardization, limits illumination conditions to illumination angles of 30, 45, and 90 degrees, and the 8072V is the only product among inspection equipment for DPM codes currently on the market that satisfies these illumination conditions.
