LG Solar Power Produces Electricity from One Refrigerator Per Month

LG Electronics announced on the 26th that it is expanding its residential solar power generation systems.

LG Electronics is offering a discount on LG home solar power generation systems to customers who purchase refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, dryers, etc., at LG Best Shop. LG Electronics covers 500,000 won out of the total cost of 700,000 won, including installation fees. The customer's co-payment is 200,000 won.
Products eligible for bundled sales include ice dispenser refrigerators, top-refrigerator bottom-freezer refrigerators, Whisen Dual Victory air conditioners, Tromm Twin Wash (21kg/4kg), and clothes dryers (14kg).

LG Electronics plans to sell popular home appliances in conjunction with solar power generation systems to help households save on electricity bills and further contribute to the expansion of eco-friendly new and renewable energy.

The LG residential solar power system consists of 300W high-efficiency solar modules and a micro-inverter that converts the generated DC into AC. It can be installed not only in standard houses but also on apartment balconies. It also boasts excellent durability. LG Electronics provides a 15-year free warranty for this product (5 years for micro inverters).

By utilizing LG's residential solar power generation system, an average of 33.3 kWh of electricity can be generated per month (based on 3.7 hours of power generation per day). This figure is similar to the average monthly power consumption (30.5 kWh) of the 870-liter LG Dios Knock-on Magic Space refrigerator. Essentially, this means the power consumption of the latest refrigerator is supplied solely by solar energy. In monetary terms, based on the average monthly electricity consumption of households in Seoul (304 kWh), this translates to an annual savings of approximately 100,000 won in electricity bills. Customers will recoup their entire investment within about two years.

LG Electronics Solar is currently establishing itself as a premium brand in global markets including the United States, Japan, Europe, and Australia. In July 2017, it launched the 'NeON R' ultra-high-efficiency solar module globally, achieving a world-leading efficiency of 21.1% (365W) based on 60 N-type cells. The NeON R maximizes light absorption by eliminating electrodes on the front surface.
