June 28, 2012 – Wolfson Microelectronics Korea (CEO Kim Ki-tae, www.wolfsonmicro.com ), a global leader in the design and development of mixed-signal semiconductors and high-resolution HD audio solutions for the consumer electronics market, announced today that its ultra-low power HD audio hub WM1811 has been adopted in Samsung Electronics' new smartphone, the Galaxy S3.
This adoption is based on the strong partnership between Wolfson and Samsung, and Wolfson's WM8994 audio hub is already installed in high-end smartphones such as the Samsung Wave and Galaxy S.
With industry-leading technology, the WM1811 minimizes power consumption while providing clear voice call quality and rich music, video, and audio playback capabilities, enabling manufacturers like Samsung to create an excellent HD audio user experience with long battery life.
