Published2017.05.29 16:57The IoT cloud platform Thing+ (Thing Plus) showcased at World IT Show provides a cloud environment for building IoT services quickly and easily. Through Thing+ Embedded (Thing Plus Embedded), various devices can be easily connected to Thing+Cloud (Thing Plus Cloud), and once devices are connected, users can immediately access features such as widget-based dashboards, rule settings, notifications, graph analysis, and user and device management through Thing+ Portal (Thing Plus Portal).
Thing Plus can also be utilized in smart factories. It provides a cloud-based service (SaaS) environment that monitors machine status on manufacturing lines and environmental conditions within factories, and supports productivity improvement through big data analysis based on accumulated data.

KT Strengthens Home IoT Security Capabilities
KT announced on the 26th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) on "improving security capabilities of home IoT small and medium-sized partner companies" at the Startup Campus in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. The MOU signing took place at KISA's IoT Innovation Center, which handles IoT-related operations. Hacking concerns regarding home Internet of Things (IoT) devices such as home cameras are increasing. In response, KT has joined hands with an IoT security specialized institution to enhance the security capabilities of small and medium-sized partners in the home IoT sector. Under this MOU, KT and KISA agreed to mutually cooperate on "conducting security tests for KT home IoT devices," "providing education to raise home IoT security awareness," and "exchanging home IoT security technology information" to improve the security capabilities and strengthen security awareness of KT partners. KISA opened an IoT security testbed in 2015 and is currently providing test environments for smart homes, home appliances, automobiles, factories, and other sectors. Additionally, it is supporting education programs and consulting related to IoT security. As KT collaborates with KISA, which possesses capabilities in IoT security, it is expected to provide customers with safer IoT products and services. For home IoT devices to have strong security, small and medium-sized partner companies that manufacture products must have the capability to implement security management from the product design stage itself. Moreover, as the government is advancing enhanced security compliance for home IoT devices to revitalize the IoT industry, the collaboration between KT and KISA is expected to provide substantial assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises.

Vietnamese software company FPT participated in the World IT Show (WIS). FPT Group is composed primarily of FPT Software, FPT University, and FPT Corporation, with approximately 30,000 engineers on staff. FPT Software conducts research in Internet of Things (IoT), cloud, and artificial intelligence (AI), and is developing software capable of recognizing license plates, vehicles, people, and traffic signals through test operations on the FPT University campus. The company operates four branch offices within Vietnam and possesses foreign language conversation capabilities (English, Korean, German, Chinese, etc.) for overseas internships and personnel outsourcing, in addition to research activities. As IT technology advances, demand for personnel is increasing. When it becomes difficult to expand investment in R&D operations, it is expected that Vietnamese personnel support can enable continued operations.

STMicroelectronics' latest MEMS sensors measure diverse information including vibration, temperature, and acoustic signals, and execute machine learning within the sensor itself through in-sensor AI to assess anomalies in real time. ZEISS Appoints Dr. Jaane Seehusen as New Korea Regional Director
Global optical company ZEISS has appointed Dr. Jaane Seehusen, Head of Supply Chain Management for the Semiconductor Business Unit, as the new regional director of its Korea subsidiary.
