Obtained ISO/SAE 21434 certification for automotive cybersecurity
Infineon Technologies (Korea CEO Seung-Soo Lee) has obtained automotive cybersecurity certification, gaining recognition for its highest level of reliability in the security field.
Infineon announced that it has received ISO/SAE 21434 certification for its automotive microcontroller AURIX™ TC4x.
This certification demonstrates compliance with rigorous cybersecurity standards and ensures secure development processes and risk management throughout the vehicle life cycle.
The ISO/SAE 21434 certification was granted by TUV SGS and means that Infineon's AURIX TC4x microcontrollers offer the highest level of reliability in terms of security.
Infineon is also pursuing ISO/SAE 21434 certification for its AURIX TC3x microcontroller family to help customers comply with national and global cybersecurity regulations such as UN R155.
“The ISO/SAE 21434 compliance of our AURIX TC4Dx products enables our customers to strengthen their ECU portfolio and bring their products to market faster and more efficiently,” said Thomas Bohm, Senior Vice President, Automotive Microcontrollers at Infineon.
With ISO/SAE 21434 certification, Infineon isIt can provide a variety of cybersecurity measures, including cybersecurity management, monitoring for proactive identification and resolution of potential threats, risk assessment, and vulnerability analysis.
Additionally, we systematically identify security risks through structured risk assessment methods, which defines security goals at the concept stage and ensures secure integration and verification at the product development stage.
The post-development phase also includes a cybersecurity incident response mechanism to address potential vulnerabilities that may arise after deployment.
These certifications provide automakers with a strong foundation for developing secure and compliant electronic devices, helping reduce development complexity and shorten time to market.
Infineon also plans to pursue ISO/SAE 21434 certification for its AURIX TC3x microcontroller family in the future.
This is expected to enable more customers to strengthen their competitiveness in the market with products that meet strict cybersecurity standards.
