The fastest consumer SSD has been released.

Samsung Electronics will launch its highest-performance NVMe (M.2) SSD '970 EVO Plus Series' in 50 countries around the world, including Korea, the United States, China, and Germany, on the 23rd.
The 2TB model, the largest capacity in the 970 EVO Plus series, boasts the fastest speed among NVMe-based M.2 SSDs. This model is equipped with fifth-generation 512Gb 3-bit V-NAND, 10nm-class 2GB LPDDR4 mobile DRAM, a Phoenix controller with enhanced heat dissipation via nickel coating, and firmware optimized for speed enhancements and autonomous temperature management.

In particular, this product has a sequential read/write speed of 3,500MB/s and 3,300MB/s, which is more than 6 times faster than SATA SSD, and a random read/write speed of 620,000 IOPS and 560,000 IOPS. This is a speed that can store one high-resolution FHD movie (3.7 GB) in about 1 second.

Compared to the existing '970 EVO' SSD, the sequential write speed has improved by more than 1.3 times and the random write speed has improved by more than 1.16 times.

It also provides up to 1,200 TB of total write capacity (TBW, Total Bytes Written) and a 5-year warranty.

Samsung Electronics plans to respond to the growing demand for premium SSDs from consumers who require high performance, such as those working with high-resolution content and playing high-spec games, by steadily expanding the supply of the '970 EVO Plus series.'

The 970 EVO Plus series will be available in four capacities: 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB (available in April), with expected retail pricing starting at $89.99.
