Samsung Electronics will showcase its 5G commercial technology by exhibiting integrated 5G solutions ranging from chipsets to smartphones and communication equipment at MWC19, held in Barcelona, Spain from the 25th to the 28th (local time).
On the 20th, at the 'Galaxy Unpacked 2019' held in San Francisco, USA, Samsung Electronics' first 5G smartphone 'Galaxy S10 5G' was unveiled, and using communication equipment that is providing commercial services in the US and Korea, the ultra-high data transmission speed, ultra-low latency, and ultra-connectivity of 5G were made available for direct observation. This demonstrates that 5G wireless communication is not a future but a reality, and that it has the potential to provide unprecedented experiences not only in smartphones but also in various fields such as connected cars and smart factories.

The Galaxy S10 5G offers powerful usability with the largest 6.7-inch Infinity-O display in the Galaxy S series, a 3D depth camera that supports video live focus, a large 4,500mAh battery, and 25W fast charging.

It is scheduled to be launched in the European market this summer in cooperation with major telecommunications carriers such as Deutsche Telekom in Germany, EE in the UK, Orange in France, and Spain, Italy, and Switzerland, as well as in the US and Korea.

At this year's MWC, Samsung Electronics will demonstrate 5G's ultra-high-speed, ultra-low-latency communications, utilizing commercially available 5G base stations in Korea and the US and the Galaxy S10 5G. The demonstration showcases game footage captured by 140 cameras throughout the stadium, using 5G to allow users to adjust the angle of their choice for a seamless, immersive experience.

Samsung Electronics is showcasing the Galaxy Fold, a foldable smartphone with a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display. The Galaxy Fold offers the experience of both a smartphone and a tablet, powered by new technologies and UX. It provides an unprecedented multitasking experience, including the ability to split the screen into two or three parts and use multiple applications simultaneously.

The Galaxy S10 will also be on display. The Galaxy S10 features a Dynamic AMOLED display that delivers 100% mobile color volume for a cinematic viewing experience, the world's first ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and new camera technology.

Samsung Electronics is also unveiling for the first time the new 'Galaxy A50' and 'Galaxy A30', which have upgraded basic smartphone functions.

In addition, the company will exhibit new wearable products such as the 'Galaxy Watch Active' and 'Galaxy Buds', which are optimized for consumers who value a healthy and balanced lifestyle, as well as the new tablet 'Galaxy Tab S5e', which is the first Samsung tablet to feature Bixby Voice and has a slim design that combines style and practicality.

You can also check out Bixby, an intelligent platform that recently expanded its support for European languages, including Spanish, German, Italian, and British English. Samsung Electronics plans to operate a Bixby Studio not only at its exhibition halls but also at Plaça Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.

Building on its experience in commercializing 5G, Samsung Electronics will also showcase a variety of commercial 5G communication equipment, AI-based network design and operation solutions, and future 5G communication services (use cases).
Last December, Samsung Electronics commercialized the world's first 3.5 GHz mobile 5G service in cooperation with the three major domestic telecommunications companies, and in October, it commercialized the 28 GHz 5G Home (ultra-high-speed wireless internet for home) service with Verizon in the United States.

Samsung Electronics has supplied over 36,000 5G base stations to leading global telecommunications carriers to date. Samsung Electronics is the only company to have supplied commercial 5G equipment and terminals in both the 3.5 GHz and 28 GHz bands, key 5G frequencies.

We will showcase Zhilabs' AI-based network automation solution, acquired last October, and demonstrate real-time analysis of individual users' application usage experience and network performance, as well as network failure prevention functions.

Samsung Electronics will also showcase its next-generation radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC). This chip, which will be installed in 5G base stations, is 36% smaller than its predecessor and supports a 75% wider frequency band, up to 1.4 GHz. Also on display is a digital-to-analog conversion chip (DAFE) that can reduce the size, weight, and power consumption of 5G base stations by 25%.

It will also present future service directions for various industries, including drone patrols that can transmit and analyze 360-degree camera footage in real time, mission-critical solutions applied to security facility management, AR factory facility management, 5G collaborative robots, and connected cars.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics, in collaboration with MWC organizer GSMA, is building 5G communication infrastructure at the exhibition venue and exclusively broadcasting the official broadcast, "Mobile World Live." The live broadcast, powered by Samsung's 5G equipment, will be available from February 25th to 28th at the MWC venue, 280 hotels in Barcelona, and online.
