The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that it is promoting blockchain technology verification (Proof Of Concept, PoC) support projects and blockchain technology consulting support projects to foster specialized blockchain companies.

The total support amount is 5.2 billion won, and the project is scheduled to be announced from the 8th of this month to the 8th of next month.

The Blockchain PoC Support Project is a program that verifies the commercialization potential of new blockchain-based business models currently in their early stages, including technical feasibility and performance verification.
Eligible applicants are companies (sole or consortium) possessing blockchain technology. We plan to select a total of about 10 projects through an open call and provide approximately 400 million won per project.

The selected companies will plan blockchain service models and design prototypes.Receive financial support for implementation, performance verification, and other necessary costs.
The blockchain technology consulting support program is a project that provides consulting to companies seeking to adopt or utilize blockchain technology, aiming to spread blockchain technology across various industries.

The target recipients are demand organizations that wish to adopt blockchain technology and supply companies that wish to develop blockchain technology-based systems. A total of 10 companies and organizations will be selected through an open call.

Selected companies and institutions will receive customized consulting from professional consulting firms, taking into comprehensive consideration their internal resources and capabilities.
The business briefing session is scheduled to be held at El Tower on March 19, and details regarding the schedule and call for proposals can be found on the National Information & Communication Technology Promotion Agency (NIPA) website (http://www.nipa.kr).
