Dell EMC Opens SDN/SDDC Demo Center in Gasan-dong, Seoul, and Announces OEM Partnership with Big Switch Networking

Big Switch to Launch OEM Business in Korea in the Second Quarter
On the 29th, Dell EMC held a press conference and introduced the 'Dell EMC SDN·SDDC Demo Center' that will officially open in Gasan-dong, Seoul in April, and revealed Dell EMC's open networking strategy.

The company also announced an OEM partnership with global SDN company Big Switch Networks, strengthening its networking business. With the launch of this demo center and its partnership with Big Switch, Dell EMC is leading the way in expanding the modern data center based on open networking.
At the meeting, Dell EMC emphasized its strategy consisting of three axes: OS10, Big Switch, and NSX.
The three core strategies are the 'Smart Fabric Service' provided by Dell EMC's networking OS solution, OS10, the BCF controller solution provided by Big Switch, and lastly, the overlay NSX network virtualization platform provided by VMware.

It covers both the underlay and overlay layers with three solutions as its axes, and separates hardware and software components, allowing enterprises or service providers to independently select each component.
As part of this strategy, the Dell EMC SDN/SDDC Demo Center is a one-stop center for domestic companies seeking to introduce SDN (Software-defined networking) and SDDC (Software-defined data center), and will support testing and POC (proof of concept) starting in April.
The demo center is operated by Selfine Networks, a networking company and partner of Dell EMC.It will be located in the Gasan-dong office building and will be jointly operated by Dell EMC and Selfine Networks. The center is equipped with various networking equipment, including the 'S6010-ON' and 'S4048-ON' switches, as well as Dell EMC's HCI (hyper-converged infrastructure) solution, 'VxRail', and can conduct tests or POCs using solutions such as VMware NSX.
Dell EMC, the only major IT company to pursue an open networking strategy, leverages its extensive experience to propose, test, and support the implementation of customized solutions tailored to a company's infrastructure requirements.

Mario Vecchio, President of Big Switch Asia Pacific, who attended the press conference that day, said, “SDN and open networking are essential gateways for operating corporate infrastructure more efficiently in the cloud era and responding nimbly to business changes,” and “Through the collaboration between Big Switch and Dell EMC, we will be able to support more Korean companies in building modern data centers.”
Along with the opening of the demo center, Dell EMC has partnered with Big Switch and will also begin OEM business for the Big Switch product line in the second quarter of this year.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM.
