| Second 5G Open Lab Opens in Pangyo Following Seoul

KT announced on the 11th that it has opened the 'Pangyo KT 5G Open Lab' at the Pangyo Startup Campus, where anyone, including startups and general developers, can develop 5G services using the 5G infrastructure.

KT 5G Open Lab opened in September of last year at the KT Research and Development Center in Umyeon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It is an open collaboration support platform that provides 5G-related technical resources to small and medium-sized partners, and more than 100 businesses visit every month to experience 5G.

KT is conducting 5G service development cooperation with operators in various fields through an open collaboration system. KT is opening an additional 5G open lab in Pangyo this time and is aiming to activate the discovery of creative services that combine KT's 5G infrastructure and platform by cooperating with promising startup infrastructure in Pangyo that develops new technologies in various fields such as next-generation media, IoT, and terminals.

Pangyo 5G Open Lab provides a 5G network test environment utilizing 5G network-specific equipment such as 5G RUs and 5G terminals through a 5G-only shield room. In addition, we support collaboration with various internal departments, such as business departments and purchasing departments, to achieve mutual growth and successful business cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises, and we have a system in place to support startups seeking to develop 5G services through venture incubation programs.

On the 10th, to commemorate the opening of the Pangyo 5G Open Lab, around 300 people from 150 companies participated in the 'KT 5G Platform Developer Conference' to share 5G technology and development cases, confirming the hot interest in 5G.

The conference introduced the KT 5G platform, which allows not only startups but also general developers to develop 5G services more easily, and various partners who participated in Google, Nvidia, and Open Lab shared development cases. A workshop was also held where developers could participate and develop their own projects using the KT 5G platform related to video analysis and AI.
