The 2nd International Artificial Intelligence Expo (AI EXPO KOREA 2019) will be held for three days from the 17th to the 19th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, where you can learn everything about AI, including what AI will mean to us in the future, what innovations AI will bring to our society and industry, related AI technologies, platforms, solutions, AI-based business models, and business strategies of domestic and foreign AI companies.
This event will be attended by approximately 120 domestic and international AI specialized companies and organizations, and will showcase their capabilities in machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, reinforcement learning, natural language, voice recognition, image recognition, AI chips and components, computing, AI platforms and solutions, chatbots and assistants, 5G and networks, IoT, autonomous driving, medical and healthcare, games, finance, security, manufacturing, distribution and retail, AI robots, wearables, smart factories, smart cities and homes, drones and UAVs, predictive maintenance, and AI consulting over three days.
Main exhibitsRepresentative domestic AI companies participating include SK Telecom, IBM Korea, Intel Korea, LG CNS, Twim, Minds Lab, Viewno, Hancom MDS, Saltlux, Runit, Infinic, Elzen ICT, WiseNut, T3Q, WiseITec, and Wonderful Platform.
Also, Intellicon Research Institute, which developed the first domestic AI legal AI system from AI lawyer to judge, and AI research institutes of each university and institution participated, and many representative domestic AI startups such as Neurosense, Neosapiens, DeepNatural, Elexi, DeepMedi, Nota, Scanetchain, Doing Lab, Sweet K, Exem, Tenspace, Neurocoms, Atlas Labs, Stuffing, Soluget, Selectstar, 4S Mapper, Alchera, Blueprint Lab, Pulse Nine, and Next AIOI participated and shared AI insights.

'NVIDIA AI Conference 2019,' which explored the application of AI in all industries and processes, has come to a close.
Nvidia concluded the "Nvidia AI Conference 2019," the largest-scale AI event in the country, over two days from the 1st to the 2nd at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. At this event, which was attended by approximately 3,000 participants over two days, including Nvidia, industry experts, and developers, the latest AI technology trends and industry-specific use cases were presented. On the first day of the event, the Deep Learning Institute was held, conducting hands-on training with the latest GPU-based deep learning frameworks. On the second day, a conference was held introducing the current state of the latest AI and deep learning technologies and various industry cases.

Korea-U.S. Industrial Cooperation Dialogue Held on Autonomous Vehicles
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held a Korea-U.S. industrial cooperation dialogue on autonomous vehicles with the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington D.C. on the 10th. The two countries had agreed to regularize the holding of industrial cooperation dialogues to establish forward-looking cooperative relations between them through the Joint Declaration of the Korea-U.S. Summit in June 2017 and the Commerce Ministers' Meeting in April 2018. In this industrial cooperation dialogue, Korea's Ministry of Industry and the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Federal Highway Administration and other entities participated to share autonomous vehicle policies between the two countries. Additionally, complete vehicle manufacturers from both countries including Hyundai Motor and GM, and various IT and telecommunications industry players such as Qualcomm, Intel, Samsung Electronics, KT, Microsoft, and 3M attended to share autonomous vehicle research trends by field including communications, infrastructure, and AI, and discussed cooperation directions.

ST Microelectronics and NUS Establish Joint Research Center 'HELIX' for Edge AI
ST Microelectronics and the National University of Singapore have established the 'HELIX' joint research center aimed at implementing embedded AI in edge environments. Over a four-year period, the center will conduct research across the entire technology stack from algorithms to silicon, focusing on memory-centric architecture leveraging ST's 18nm FD-SOI technology and embedded PCM. ams OSRAM has unveiled solutions that leverage digital photonics technology to enhance the sensing and communication capabilities of humanoid robots. The company implements environmental awareness and precision manipulation through dToF sensors, optical force sensors, and structured light emitters, while supporting LED-based non-verbal communication through the EVIYOS and ALIYOS platforms.
