CEVA Signs Strategic Partnership with Immervision… Plans to Unveil an Advanced End-to-End Solution Featuring Wide-Angle Panomorph Optical Lens Design and Complementary Image Enhancement Software

CEVA announced on the 6th (local time) that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Immervision.

Immervision is a company that develops and licenses wide-angle lenses and image processing technology. In particular, it possesses technology to eliminate the unique distortion that occurs at the edges of the frame when using a wide-angle camera.

Immervision has shipped over 50 million devices through collaboration with various clients including Acer, Dahua, Garmin, Hanwha, Lenovo, Motorola, Quanta, Sony, and Vivotek.

CEVA has made a $10 million technology investment to secure exclusive licensing rights to ImmerVision’s patented wide-angle image processing technology and software portfolio following the signing of this partnership.

ImmerVision's portfolio includes real-time adaptive dewarping, stitching, image color and contrast enhancement, and electronic image stabilization (EIS).

The Data-in-Picture patent technology from Immervision that CEVA will acquire is a technology that integrates fused sensor data into each video frame, similar to the technology provided by Hillcrest Labs, which CEVA recently acquired.

By recognizing information for each frame in a contextual manner, it provides better image quality and video stabilization, and enables highly accurate machine vision, especially in AI applications.

The two companies plan to showcase an end-to-end solution advanced with wide-angle Panomorph optical lens designs and complementary image enhancement software.

ImmerVision's hardware-agnostic software portfolio will continue to be available in power-optimized versions specialized for all SoC platforms, including GPUs, as well as SoCs, including the CEVA-XM4 and CEVA-XM6 intelligent vision DSPs.

Along with this, CEVA is a neural network graph compiler, '#3It provides various computer vision and AI software technologies such as the CEVA Deep Neural Network (CDNN), CEVA SLAM SDK, and the computer vision library CEVA-CV.
