Universal Robots and POSCO ICT Form Joint Front for Industrial Collaborative Robots to "Preempt the Smart Factory Market"

Universal Robots' collaborative robots and POSCO ICT's robot integration operation solution are being combined.
Universal Robots and POSCO ICT announced on the 7th that they have signed an agreement to jointly promote smart factory and industrial collaborative robot businesses.
Through this agreement, both companies plan to combine their technological capabilities and secure a leading position in the collaborative robot-based smart factory market.
The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday, July 23, with the attendance of Universal Robots Korea President Kim Hae-rang and POSCO ICT President Son Gun-jae, as well as POSCO ICT Executive Vice President Oh Sung-chul, Group Leader Ahn Seung-hee, and Team Leader Hwang Sang-don, along with Universal Robots Korea Manager Kim Byung-ho and Section Chief Sung Hwang-hyun.
POSCO ICT and Universal Robots have agreed to cooperate on marketing and distribution utilizing Universal Robots' domestic dealership network, with POSCO ICT providing 'IRaaS (Industrial Robots as a Service),' a robot integration O&M operation solution, and Universal Robots providing collaborative robots for IRaaS.
Universal Robots supports the marketing and sales of IRaaS solutions, as well as the supply and deployment of collaborative robots and applications, in conjunction with distributors, while POSCO ICT provides consulting and engineering services for the collaborative robot business, robot integrated O&M solutions, and ISupports the development, supply, and implementation of T solutions.
Universal Robots' collaborative robots are scheduled to be gradually expanded to POSCO Group companies in the future.
"Recently, the demand for building smart factories through collaborative robots has been increasing," said Kim Hae-rang, President of Universal Robots Korea. "Universal Robots will actively cooperate with companies to increase the domestic adoption rate of collaborative robots and lower the entry barriers for companies to smart factories."
