OnRobot Korea officially opens and actively supports the domestic collaborative robot market.

As the Fourth Industrial Revolution becomes a global issue, collaborative robots that operate alongside workers in industrial sites large and small are attracting attention.

Collaborative robots are robots designed for direct interaction with humans while sharing workspaces with them. They are safe, easy to use, flexible, easy to move and install, and have low-cost, lightweight platforms that help humans successfully perform certain tasks.

OnRobot is a Danish company that develops end effectors used at the edge of these collaborative robots. It is a company that is attracting even more attention because it was founded by the founding CEO of Universal Robots.

Regarding the background of selling Universal Robots, the predecessor company to the robot, and establishing an EOAT (Edge-Of-Air Tool) company, which is like an accessory, James Taylor, General Manager of OnRobot Asia Pacific, who gave the presentation that day, said, "While the competitiveness of a single item, such as a robot arm, is becoming increasingly fierce, the EOAT field can have an exclusive advantage in item competitiveness and technological competitiveness because it can continuously develop tools necessary for numerous environments." He explained the significance of establishing OnRobot.
OnRobotIt was established in June 2018 through the acquisition and merger of three companies possessing core technologies in the EOAT field.

The three major companies are US-based Perception Robotics (founded in 2012), Hungary-based OptoForce (founded in 2012), and Denmark-based OnRobot (founded in 2015).

OnRobot has expanded its product portfolio through acquisitions to include grippers, force/torque sensors, gecko grippers, and tool changers, quickly responding to the growing demand for automation in manufacturing processes such as packaging, quality control, material handling, machine tending, assembly, and surface finishing.

OnRobot products are compatible with a wide range of robots, from lightweight industrial robots to collaborative robots, and are easy to use, making robot automation easier.

For example, plug-and-play electric grippers mount directly onto the robot arm and are simple enough to program and operate with the same interface as the robot, requiring no technician. OnRobot's vision is to provide customers with innovative collaboration solutions like this.

In Korea, the company supplies products to machine tool manufacturers such as Doosan, and this year, it established a Korean branch with CEO Choi Min-seok at the helm.
