The 20th SME Technology Innovation Fair Held
Smart Factory Selected as Exhibition Technology Theme
Innotech IR Win-Win Conference scheduled for the 27th

The 2019 Innovative Technology Show (ITS2019), aimed at spreading technological innovation achievements among SMEs, will be held for three days from the 26th to the 28th under the slogan "The Strong Power of Connecting Small Things." The venue is Hall C, 3rd Floor, COEX, Gangnam, Seoul.

This event, marking its 20th anniversary this year, has broken away from the framework of product exhibitions and selected 'Smart Factory' as its technology theme, transforming into a technology expo that presents the latest trends and directions for technological innovation.

At the opening ceremony on the 26th, an awards ceremony for those who contributed to technological innovation was held.

The Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service was awarded to CEO Choi Seok-jong of YMP. CEO Choi was recognized for his achievements in growing YMP into the number one company in domestic market share for automotive door latches and door modules, as well as for developing 1,292 new products and achieving 139.5 billion won in exports over the past five years.

HPK CEO Cho Chang-hyun was awarded the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit. It was recognized for its achievement in developing the world's first defective pixel restoration technology for OLED display panels, which reduced disposal costs for defective panels and contributed to environmental conservation.

The exhibition hall was organized into a total of 7 halls and 260 booths according to themes.

The 'Innovation Platform Pavilion' will demonstrate various technologies constituting a smart factory, such as robots, sensors and communications, data, and AI, along with an advanced smart factory solution that connects the manufacturing site in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, with the exhibition hall to remotely control manufacturing processes in real time.

This demonstration, conducted in collaboration between KT and Telstar HomeMel, clearly shows that utilizing 5G allows for the real-time analysis of large volumes of real-time equipment data, thereby preventing sudden equipment failures or production stoppages in advance.

In addition to the Innovation Platform Hall, visitors can check the technology and product trends of SMEs in exhibition halls themed around technological innovation, technology protection, and technical talent.

The 'Innotech IR (Investor Relation) Win-Win Conference' will be held at 10 a.m. on the 27th.

Among the 10 startups that advanced to the finals through preliminary screening, the top 3 companies recognized for their high business performance and investment potential will have the opportunity to participate in overseas expansion programs and crowdfunding in North America.

In addition, various conferences and seminars are held where one can encounter new perspectives and strategies related to technology quality innovation.
Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, stated, “Even amidst the heavy burden of U.S.-China trade friction and Japan’s export restrictions, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) possessing innovative technologies can maintain their competitiveness.” She added, “We will further revitalize mutual growth between large and small businesses to promote technological independence in the materials, parts, and equipment sectors—which form the foundation of future new industries—and support sales channels for core components.”

In addition, they stated, “We plan to support the establishment of ‘smarter smart factories’ than before by providing AI cloud infrastructure dedicated to SMEs.”
