Automotive OEMs worldwide must respond to customer demands for more personalized solutions, while also innovating technologies and adapting to a rapidly changing regulatory landscape.

To this end, ANSYS announced a collaboration with Autodesk, a design and manufacturing software provider, on the 25th. This collaboration aims to help automotive OEMs combine visual design review and regulatory compliance verification in a connected workflow.

ANSYS Automatic Workflow uses ANSYS lighting simulation with Autodesk VRED to provide physically accurate interior and exterior lighting simulations to design studios. This enables designers to improve their design, visualization, and simulation workflows while preserving their original design intent.

“Our collaboration with Autodesk provides automotive OEMs with the gold standard in lighting simulation,” said Eric Bantegnie, vice president and general manager of the Systems Business Unit at ANSYS.

“VRED is the industry standard, cutting-edge 3D visualization tool and digitalized decision-making tool for automotive design studios,” said Thomas Heermann, senior director, Automotive Products at Autodesk.

“Working with Ansys allows Autodesk to integrate physically-based simulations of optical ray files and complex dynamic lighting scenarios into VRED,” he continued. “This allows designers to make digital decisions earlier in the design process and accelerate the development of new products.”
