Teledyne LeCroy announced the WaveRunner 8000HD high-resolution oscilloscope, an 8-channel, 12-bit resolution, 2GHz instrument.

WaveRunner 8000HD utilizes its HD4096 HD technology, a 15.6” touchscreen, a high number of channels, and 5 Gpts of acquisition memory in critical applications such as high-power/three-phase power conversion, automotive electronics, power integrity, power sequencing, and embedded control systems.
Today's highly complex power conversion systems, automotive ECUs, and embedded control systems are becoming increasingly smaller and denser. Engineers need instruments with lower noise and more channels, resolution, bandwidth, and acquisition memory to understand and debug the complexity of closely coupled signal interactions using more signals, sensor inputs, and low-voltage power rails than before.

The WaveRunner 8000HD provides 2 GHz bandwidth with 12-bit resolution for the most demanding embedded control systems and power integrity debug requirements.

In addition, with 8 channels, more signals can be viewed simultaneously for more efficient debugging, and more accumulation memory can be used for long-duration and high-sample-rate capture.

Two WaveRunner 8000HD oscilloscopes can be connected together to function as a single 16-channel acquisition system. This is particularly useful for power conversion applications.

Only the WaveRunner 8000HD provides this combination of channels, bandwidth, and acquisition memory with very low noise to solve and resolve these power conversion, embedded control system, and power integrity issues.

WaveRunner 8000HD's HD4096 technology systematically approaches 12-bit measurement resolution. HD4096 technology provides the best resolution and lowest noise with up to 12 bits.

Competitor equipment cannot always provide 12-bit resolution at high bandwidth because it simply drops a 10-bit ADC into the existing 8-bit signal path or uses software techniques that sacrifice bandwidth for higher resolution.

Teledyne LeCroy's new OscilloSYNC™ technology overcomes the barrier of channel count by teaming up two WaveRunner 8000HD units to view and control 16 synchronized analog channels from a single display and front panel, just as if using a single 16-channel acquisition system.
