Xperi Korea Showcases Home Entertainment, Mobile Audio, and Imaging Technologies at KES 2019

Xperi will participate in the 2019 Korea Electronics Show (KES), held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, from October 8 to 11, to demonstrate IMAX® Enhanced, a premium home entertainment program, for the first time in Korea, and showcase the latest audio and imaging technologies from DTS® and Fotonation.
Xperi Korea plans to set up a booth (V170) in Hall A on the 1st floor of COEX and operate an experience zone where visitors can directly experience DTS's innovative surround sound solutions and Photonation's latest 3D imaging technology. In addition, they plan to conduct a demonstration where visitors can experience IMAX Enhanced, a next-generation home entertainment program created through the collaboration between DTS and IMAX Corporation.
IMAX Enhanced is a program that allows consumers to enjoy premium IMAX movies at home that were previously only available in specific theaters. It combines 4K HDR content digitally remastered with unrivaled technology with high-end home appliances to provide a new dimension of immersive audiovisual experience and scale.
At this event, Xperi Korea will conduct an IMAX Enhanced demonstration in an 11.1 channel home theater environment using TVs and AVRs that have passed rigorous standards and obtained IMAX Enhanced certification.
In addition, Xperi Korea is also showcasing Photonation's DMS (Driver Monitoring System) technology. Photonation’s DMS technology, boasting outstanding technical capabilities, is a next-generation driver monitoring system that monitors driver concentration, fatigue and drowsiness, and interior security through facial recognition, iris recognition, 3D face modeling, and state analysis. The IMAX Enhanced and DMS technology demo will be available by pre-reservation.
In the imaging technology experience zone, Photonation's FaceSafe™ and 3D relighting technologies are being demonstrated using LG Electronics' latest mobile phones. FaceSafe is an AI-based 3D facial recognition solution that provides exceptional accuracy by fusing facial features and three-dimensional spatial information.
3D Relighting is a 3D sensing technology that allows the position of a light source to be changed in real time when taking photos. FaceSafe and 3D Relighting were previously featured in LG Electronics' smartphone G8 ThinQ under the names 'Face Unlock' and 'Spotlight,' respectively.
In addition, at the DTS Experience Zone, visitors can experience DTS:X Ultra firsthand through LG Electronics' latest laptops and smartphones. DTS:X Ultra, DTS's latest audio technology, delivers 3D surround sound optimized for PCs, smartphones, and mobile devices, allowing you to enjoy an immersive, movie-cinema-like entertainment experience anytime, anywhere.

LG Electronics Unveils 4K Projector That 'Turns Small Spaces into a Theater'
LG Electronics will unveil a 4K UHD ultra-short-throw projector at CES 2019, the Consumer Electronics Show to be held in the United States in January next year. According to PMA, the sales volume of UHD-resolution products is projected to exceed that of FHD-resolution products in the home cinema projector market in 2019. The LG CineBeam Laser 4K projector applies ultra-short-throw technology that delivers a large screen even at short projection distances. With 4K UHD resolution and a maximum brightness of 2,500 ANSI lumens, it realizes vivid image quality with a clear and bright display.
