On the 14th, Arm announced the launch of AVCC, a global collaborative body for fully autonomous vehicles.
The Autonomous Vehicle Computing Consortium (AVCC), which was officially launched at Arm TechCon held in San Jose, California, USA from the 8th to the 10th, is an autonomous computing technology collaboration comprised of leading companies in various industries, including automobiles, automobile parts, semiconductors, and computing.
The initial members include Arm, Bosch, Continental AG, Denso, GM, NVIDIA, NXP, and Toyota, with many more joining the consortium. AVCC members will collaborate to address the key challenges facing large-scale autonomous vehicles.
The primary goal of AVCC is to develop recommendations for system architecture and computing platforms. This serves to harmonize the performance requirements of autonomous systems with vehicle-specific requirements and constraints (size, temperature, power consumption, safety, etc.).
“Scalable and safe ADAS development is essential for mass production of fully autonomous vehicles,” said Dipti Vachani, senior vice president and general manager, Automotive and IoT, Arm. “To achieve this, the AVCC will bring together automotive industry leaders to solve complex underlying technology and computing challenges.”

ST has launched the HVLED007 AC/DC LED driver featuring a new distortion-cancelling Input-Current Shaping (ICS) circuit.
