Samsung Electronics Moves to Secure High-Definition HDR10+ Technology in China

Samsung Electronics has set out to expand its HDR10+ technology in China, putting the 8K dispute with LG Electronics behind it.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 24th that it held an HDR10+ seminar at Mee Park in Beijing's 789 Art District, China.

About 100 industry representatives from various sectors, including TV manufacturers such as TCL, Xiaomi, Skyworth, Konka, and Changhong, as well as mobile phone manufacturers such as Huawei and NEC, attended the seminar and showed interest in HDR10+ technology.
The HDR10+ certification and logo operation program consists of sharing detailed technical and test specifications, providing certification logos and user guides, and device certification through third-party accredited testing institutions, and the usage fees for the logo and technology are free.
The event featured sessions including an HDR10+ technical briefing, picture quality demonstrations, and expert evaluations, and also included a product certification award ceremony.
Samsung Electronics, 20th Century Fox, and Panasonic launched the 'HDR10+ Certification and Logo Operation Program' last June, and to date, TCL, Amazon, and Qualcomm have joined.A total of 83 companies, including Com, Warner Bros., and Rakuten TV, are participating.
Meanwhile, this event was co-hosted by Samsung Electronics and TIRT (National Testing and Inspection Center for Radio and TV Products), a Chinese testing institution specializing in TVs and radios.

QLED TV에 탑재된 수신기는 현재 유럽, 한국 등에서 HD급과 4K UHD급 위성 방송에 널리 활용되고 있는 전송 규격인 DVB-S2를 기본으로 지원한다.

Samsung Electronics Launches 108-Megapixel Mobile Image Sensor
삼성전자가 1억 화소의 벽을 깬 1억 8백만 화소의 모바일 이미지센서인 아이소셀 브라이트 HMX를 선보였다. 이 제품은 0.8㎛ 크기의 픽셀을 적용했다. 지난 5월 공개한 6천 4백만 제품보다 화소 수가 1.6배 이상 늘어나 현존하는 모바일 이미지센서 중 최대 화소수를 자랑한다. 아이소셀 브라이트 HMX는 1억 개가 넘는 화소를 구현해 세세한 부분까지 담아내는 초고해상도 촬영이 가능하다. 삼성전자는 1/1.33인치 크기의 센서를 적용해 빛을 받아들이는 면적, 즉 수광면적을 넓혔으며, 4개의 픽셀을 합쳐 하나의 큰 픽셀처럼 활용하는 테트라셀 기술을 적용해 어두운 환경에서도 밝고 선명한 고화질 사진을 촬영할 수 있다.

LG Electronics Demonstrates WebOS for Automotive at IAA 2019 Motor Show in Germany
LG Electronics and Microsoft will participate in the Frankfurt Motor Show 2019, which opens on the 12th in Frankfurt, Germany. LG Electronics plans to demonstrate an IVI solution that combines webOS Auto, its vehicle infotainment (IVI) platform, with Microsoft's MCVP. In this demonstration, LG Electronics will transmit information such as usage frequency, usage time, and app version of IVI apps based on webOS Auto to Microsoft's cloud using MCVP. Microsoft will analyze this information with Power BI and showcase a scenario where results can be confirmed on external devices. Through MCVP, customers will be able to conveniently use Microsoft's various business solutions and intelligent services in automobiles.
