Wind River's AUTOSAR Adaptive software platform has obtained the ISO 26262 ASIL-D certification program from the certification body TÜV SÜD.

Wind River's software platform is a product that serves as the foundation for next-generation ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and autonomous driving systems, and the safety certification process is currently underway.

The certified AUTOSAR Adaptive Software Platform is designed to provide a highly flexible and scalable Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) for intelligent connected and autonomous driving applications by fully leveraging the benefits of underlying operating environments such as VxWorks Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) or Linux.

Applications and algorithms can be ported to all target environments, allowing computing systems to be deployed in the most productive locations in terms of overall system performance.

It also provides component-level and system-level safety necessary to ensure reliability in higher-level autonomous driving systems.

The AUTOSAR framework encompasses both classic and adaptive platforms, covering basic system functions and interfaces.It standardizes ces). The AUTOSAR Adaptive-based platform is designed to enable service-oriented communication in consideration of the high computing requirements of connected cars and autonomous vehicles, and was developed to match high-performance computing ECUs (Electronic Control Units).

The AUTOSAR Adaptive System provides a standardized software framework for sensor fusion data processing, on-the-air (OTA) updates, V21 (Vehicle to Infrastructure), and IoT functions.

Upon completion of the software platform certification process, this product will be added to the existing safety certification list alongside VxWorks Cert Edition and COTS. As a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) for safety-critical applications, VxWorks was developed to provide the highest level of safety adopted by certification bodies worldwide. It is already being used in over 550 safety certification programs by more than 350 customers across various industries.
