The 1st Smatec 2019 Closes After Three-Day Schedule
Covers the basics and advancement of smart factory implementation

The 1st Smart Factory Construction and Production Automation Exhibition (Smartec 2019), held at the Suwon Convention Center from Wednesday the 20th to Friday the 22nd, has concluded its three-day schedule.

This exhibition, featuring 340 booths from 130 companies, was accompanied by various side events, including a smart factory conference on the 20th and seminars on new products and technologies from participating companies held on the 21st and 22nd.

At the conference held on the 20th, experts from various fields of smart factory construction took the stage as speakers to discuss the present and future of smart factories.

Leading organizations and companies in smart factory implementation, such as the Smart Manufacturing Innovation Promotion Team, Suah Lab, and Eugene Robot, held an integrated morning session; B2B industry conferences were held by Siemens, POSCO Research Institute, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Hyundai Robotics, and Bosch Korea; and insights on smart factories by industry sector were shared by the Korea ICT Convergence Network, Samsung Electronics, SAP, and others.

At the exhibition, various suppliers set up booths to introduce their products necessary for building smart factories, and purchasing consultations were also conducted. In particular, Samsung Electronics set up a special pavilion to showcase best practices in smart factory implementation. Many companies, including MES and ERP firms such as Bizentro, Younglimwon Softlab, Woongjin, and G&D Biz, presented various solutions.

Robots necessary for smart factories and production automation were also on display. Rainbow Robotics, a collaborative robot company with domestic robot systems, and DAS Korea, a partner of Universal Robots, the world's leading collaborative robot manufacturer, participated, as did Epson Robots from Witherstech, an engineering firm specializing in factory automation implementation.

Machine tool companies DMG Mori Korea and Makino Korea also showcased their automation products, and ServoStar's AGV systems and drive units were also on display. In addition, various motion control and component, FA system, 3D printing, automation equipment, and control and measurement companies visited the exhibition.

On the 21st, LS Mtron Chairman Koo Ja-eun and Samsung Electronics Smart Factory Support Center President Kim Jong-ho visited the exhibition site and examined the products of the participating companies.

On-site, seminars were also held where participating companies served as speakers. At the participating company seminars, which visitors could attend for free, success stories of smart factories directly built by various companies were introduced.

On the 22nd, Samsung Electronics held a 'Seminar on Best Practices for Building Win-Win Smart Factories,' and Woongjin presented 'Case Study on the Introduction of an Advanced Model for Smart Logistics' and 'Case Study on the Implementation of Digital Core and Smart Factory ERP for Medium and Small Enterprises.'

Younglimwon Softlab held a briefing on its cloud ERP, SystemEver, while Spinnaker Support Korea conducted a seminar on the topic of 'SAP/Oracle Third-Party Maintenance Strategies for Smart Business.' In addition, various companies including Intopower, IMPT, and FaveTech held seminars on their new technologies and products.

Meanwhile, Smartec 2020 will be held at the same venue, the Suwon Convention Center, from Wednesday, November 11 to Friday, November 13 of next year.
