Advantech and Hanyang University ERICA Sign MOU for IIoT Industry-Academic Cooperation

Advantech Korea announced on the 27th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Hanyang University ERICA Campus for industry-academia cooperation in the fields of IoT and smart factories.

Through this business cooperation, Advantech and Hanyang University ERICA will utilize their respective human resources and infrastructure to promote mutual cooperation in fostering talent and implementing educational programs and projects in the fields of IoT and smart factories.
In addition, InnoWorks, a global industry-academia collaboration program hosted by Advantech headquarters in 2020, will be conducted in Korea in partnership with Hanyang University ERICA.
Advantech is a Taiwan-based IIoT solution specialist that provides not only a variety of hardware but also customized software.
Recently, the company has been expanding its business scope from factory management and monitoring through the factory automation software 'WebAccess SCADA' to AI services such as data collection, storage, analysis, and prediction via cloud services.
Hanyang University ERICSince 2001, Campus A has been building a cluster environment in which industry, academia, and research are spatially integrated in accordance with the government's regional innovation policy, and has been promoting research and development and workforce training for regional industrial development by utilizing the research capabilities of each entity.
Currently, in addition to three government-funded research institutes (Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute, and Korea Testing Laboratory), Gyeonggi Technopark, and LG Innotek Ansan R&D Campus, about 170 companies are located and operating within the cluster.
Advantech Korea CEO Jung Joon-kyo said, “It is very significant to engage in industry-academia cooperation with Hanyang University ERICA, a leading university in Korea based on smart factory industrial complexes,” adding, “We will use this opportunity to expand and strengthen cooperation between the two institutions and strive to play a pivotal role in the development of the domestic Internet of Things and smart factory industries.”

KT Applyes AI to 5G-Based Medical Imaging… Increased Safety and Speed
KT has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Coreline Soft to discover use cases for providing medical convergence services that apply AI technology to 5G-based medical imaging solutions. Under the agreement, the companies will pursue the development of ultra-low-latency 5G-based 3D VR surgical guidance for medical applications, enhancement of medical 3D imaging collaboration solutions, establishment of a 5G platform-based medical industry collaboration ecosystem, and development and acquisition of 5G medical imaging content.

Ecolab and K-water Discuss Innovation Collaboration in Advanced Industry Water Management
