You can now meet EBS trainee Pengsoo, who is gaining popularity with over 1 million YouTube subscribers, through AR content.
LG U+ and EBS will present EBS's Giant Peng (Pengsoo), Lightning Man, and Lightning Girl as a 5G-based augmented reality (AR) service through a content partnership.

LG U+ will provide 360-degree 3D AR videos of about 10 types of Pengsoo content that were popular on its existing YouTube channel, including dances to Pengsoo's theme song, yodelling, Pengsoo doing national calisthenics, and Pengsoo's taekwondo demonstration, through the U+AR app.

Along with this, it provides various contents suitable for the end of the year and the beginning of the new year, such as Pengsoo's carol medley, New Year's greetings, and Pengsoo bowing deeply.

In addition, popular Pengsoo emoticons on social media are captured in 3D AR, allowing customers to freely create content with Pengsoo, and 3D stickers containing Pengsoo's voices such as Pengha (Pengsoo Hi), Good Morning, and Wink are provided.

LG U+ has also completed filming characters for children, including Lightning Man and Lightning Girl.We plan to provide additional services such as videos of Lightning Man and Lightning Gymnastics.

LG U+ AR service manager Kim Min-goo said, “We expect to see a marketing synergy effect between our 5G customer base and Pengsoo’s fan base, who are called the office worker president,” and added, “We plan to continue to enhance content so that children’s animations and Disney characters can be encountered in augmented reality.”

Meanwhile, U+AR, the world's first 5G AR service launched by LG U+ in April, secured over 1,200 contents and achieved 1.2 million views in just six months since its launch.

LG U+'s newest character, Pengsoo, is a 10-year-old, 210cm tall giant penguin who arrived from Antarctica in April to become a top creator. Since his debut on EBS 1TV and YouTube as Giant PengTV, he has secured 137 official videos and reached 1 million subscribers in just seven months.
