Hyundai Mobis Unveils Core Autonomous Driving Technology at CES 2020

Hyundai Mobis will participate in CES 2020, held in Las Vegas, USA for four days from January 7th to 10th, and showcase new core mobility technologies that encapsulate autonomous driving, connectivity, and electrification.

Hyundai Mobis, showcasing the future mobility world in the form of a technology gallery, will demonstrate new technologies such as the M.Vision S concept car based on autonomous driving and a hydrogen fuel cell system.
Visitors can experience the process of communicating with future cars through a large art wheel installed in the center of the booth, and directly view images of visitors captured in real time through the front camera of the M.Vision S on a large display.
This shows the era of autonomous driving, where people and vehicles exchange vast amounts of data and people connect with each other.
Additionally, a space has been created where visitors can design future cars, and images designed using robotics technology are printed and provided to visitors. Visitors can use motion recognition, robotic drawing technology, and more to change the shape and color of the M.Vision S and create their own concept of future mobility.
Hyundai Mobis, which possesses globally recognized hydrogen fuel cell system technology, will present stories about eco-friendly transportation vehicles such as boats, drones, and trams equipped with hydrogen fuel cell systems on a ceiling-covering display.
In addition, 19 new ICT technologies required for automotive electronics, such as ADAS sensors, OLED clusters, and blooming sound systems, will be demonstrated in front of global automotive representatives attending CES 2020.
“The technology concept we are unveiling this time is ACE, which stands for autonomous driving, connectivity, and electrification,” said Baek Kyung-guk, Vice President of Hyundai Mobis Research Planning Division. “The M.Vision S is a fully autonomous driving concept car that integrates Hyundai Mobis’ core technologies such as autonomous driving, connectivity, electrification, and lamps.”
Meanwhile, Hyundai Mobis, a company possessing the camera and radar technology necessary for autonomous driving, plans to mass-produce a Level 3 autonomous driving lidar and radar system by 2021 in cooperation with Velodyne, a global lidar and radar market leader.
The M.Vision S integrates Hyundai Mobis' core future automotive technologies, including autonomous driving sensors such as cameras, radar, and lidar, as well as communication lighting, virtual space touch, 3D rear lamps, and the premium sound system KRELL.

KT and Hyundai Mobis Host 5G Connected Car Technology Demonstration
KT conducted a 5G connected car technology exchange demonstration with Hyundai Mobis and Hyundai N Software at Hyundai Mobis's driving test facility located in Seosan, South Chungcheong Province. The Hyundai Mobis Seosan driving test facility spans approximately 340,000 pyeong in total area and includes an advanced driving test facility capable of autonomous vehicle research and development. The event was held to commemorate the completion of the first phase of cooperation between KT and Hyundai Mobis, demonstrate developed technologies, and share cooperation results. The first phase development completion tasks are real-time navigation update technology and C-V2X technology.

Accelerating 5G-V2X business toward fully autonomous driving
