ST Supports LoRa IoT Connectivity with STM32WLE5 SoC

On the 9th, STMicroelectronics announced a LoRa SoC that connects smart devices to the IoT using long-range wireless connectivity.
Product developers can use the STM32WLE5 SoC to develop devices such as remote environment sensors, meters, trackers, and process controllers that support the efficient management of energy and resources.
The STM32WLE5 SoC integrates ST's ultra-low power STM32 microcontroller design technology and Semtech's LoRa-compatible wireless technology into a convenient device on a single die.
ST's LoRaWAN software is certified in all regions and can be used worldwide.
Ricardo de Sa Earp, Head of the Microcontroller Business Unit at ST, stated, “The STM32 SoC, which extends the existing STM32W Wireless products, simplifies product development, reduces component costs, and enhances system stability and energy efficiency,” adding, “By leveraging the STM32 MCU architecture, developers can easily implement wireless connectivity by porting existing embedded designs to the STM32WLE5.”
STM32WLE5 users are supported by ST's 10-year lifetime warranty program for industrial products.
The STM32WLE5 is supplied in a 5×5mm UFBGA73 package. OEM customer availability, pricing options, and sample requests can be confirmed through ST Korea.

ST Announces Two LoRa Development Packs for IoT for $99 Each
STMicroelectronics has launched ready-to-use LoRa development kits P-NUCLEO-LRWAN2 and P-NUCLEO-LRWAN3 at $99 each. The two development kits support application development such as tracking, positioning, and metering using LoRa long-range, low-power wireless IoT connectivity for not only enterprises but also individual designers, hobby developers, and students.
