Acquisition of Teleworld Solutions, a U.S. 5G/LTE Network Design Specialist
Strengthening position through expanded North American market share and strategic investments in 2020

Samsung Electronics is setting out to conquer the global mobile telecommunications market by acquiring Teleworld Solutions, a U.S. company specializing in network design.
It expands its market share in North America, including the United States, the world's largest mobile telecommunications market, while solidifying its position in the global mobile telecommunications market through strategic investments.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 14th that it has signed an acquisition agreement with Teleworld Solutions, a U.S. company specializing in 5G and 4G network design, and plans to target global markets, including North America, in 2020 by leveraging Teleworld Solutions' expertise and know-how.

Samsung Electronics plans to maintain a flexible business structure in the rapidly changing U.S. mobile telecommunications market by allowing the existing management to operate the business even after the acquisition of Teleworld Solutions.

As the commercialization of 5G gains momentum, the frequency bands and base stations used for mobile communication—including the 600–800 MHz low band, the 2.5–4.9 GHz mid band, and the 24–39 GHz ultra-high frequency band—are continuously increasing, and as network structures become more complex, efficient network design and optimization technologies are emerging as key competencies for securing 5G coverage.

Teleworld Solutions is a company established in 2002 and is a major mobile telecommunications company in the United States.We have provided differentiated services, such as network design and field testing, to operators and cable broadcasters.

In addition, by independently developing network verification analysis automation technology based on a large amount of field data, the time required for optimal location selection of indoor and outdoor base stations, extraction of wireless signal interference sources, and base station cell design has been reduced by 50% to up to 90% compared to existing methods.
