The CI/CD technique announced this time is a process for providing stable application integration, verification, and support for real-time Internet-connected devices.

“Enterprises are demanding rapid product updates for the 5G era, and they want to be able to apply even the smallest changes in real time,” said Michelle Gennard, vice president of products at Wind River.

This could accelerate the company's innovation efforts for internet-connected IoT devices and industrial equipment that require real-time firmware and software updates.

It is also expected to help with rapid security response and device updates by enabling real-time product updates for products such as 5G-based AI autonomous vehicles and AR/VR devices.

Wind River Linux includes pre-built containers, tools, documentation, and support for frameworks such as Docker and Kubernetes, enabling developers to deploy applications to the intelligent edge using cloud-native methodologies. Wind River Linux also provides containers and the underlying operating system (OS).It supports asynchronous updates separately.

The CI/CD process announced today will benefit from the same level of Common Vulnerability and Exposure (CVE) management, technical support, and quality as annual or Long-Term Support (LTS) releases through this subscription offering.
