Rockwell Expands 'Control & Visualization' Portfolio with Acquisition of ASEM
Published2020.02.19 15:17Rockwell Automation announced on the 19th that it had signed an acquisition agreement with ASEM of Italy.
ASEM is a digital automation technology provider that supplies all types of industrial PCs (IPCs), human-machine interface (HMI) hardware and software, remote access, and IIoT gateway solutions.
With ASEM's automation solutions, smart devices, control platforms, and design and operation software can be integrated into a single network.
Rockwell is also acquiring a minority stake in ASEM held by Germany's KEB Group through this acquisition agreement. We plan to maintain a technology partnership with KEB as a strategic supplier to ASEM even after the acquisition is finalized.
The acquisition process is expected to be completed in the spring of 2020, subject to customer approval and conditions, and will be reported to the Architecture & Software division.
Fran Wlodarczyk, Senior Vice President of Architecture and Software at Rockwell, commented on the acquisition, stating, “Asem’s capabilities and experience in the PC market and HMI sector will help expand Rockwell’s Control & Visualization hardware and software portfolio.”
Meanwhile, Rockwell will disclose additional information about the acquisition agreement at the Barclays & Citi Investor Conference, held in Miami, Florida, from the 19th to the 20th.
