The STSAFE-A110 protects IoT-connected consumer and industrial devices and prevents product counterfeiting through rigorous authenticity verification. It provides cutting-edge authentication-based protection features and supports secure loading and access to cloud credentials.

It enables large-scale registration of IoT devices and allows only authenticated devices to connect to online services. Security provisioning can be performed at ST factories at no additional cost for units exceeding 5,000 annually, preventing sensitive data manipulation during IoT device manufacturing.

The STSAFE-A110 features an embedded secure operating system and is based on hardware that has obtained CC (Common Criteria) EAL5+ (Evaluation Assurance Level 5+) certification. Each unit comes with a unique ID and X.509 certificate, helping enable secure device connectivity.

Additionally, as it is integrated into the STM32Cube development ecosystem, authentication and secure connectivity features can be rapidly applied to new STM32 designs. With the X-NUCLEO-SAFEA1 expansion board, development can begin immediately, and it can be used with all STM32 Nucleo development boards and the free X-CUBE-SAFEA1 and X-CUBE-SBSFU software packages.

The STSAFE-A110 is suitable for authenticity verification of consumables, accessories, and components such as power tool batteries, as well as authentication of cloud-connected IoT devices such as vending machines, agricultural equipment, and environmental sensors.

Supplied in SO8N and DFN packages, the STSAFE-A110 is currently being provided in samples, with mass production scheduled to begin at the end of February 2020. General samples with pre-provisioning completed and STM32 expansion boards can be directly purchased through the electronic distribution channel at st.com.
