Keysight-Samsung Electronics Strengthen Cooperation in 5G DSS Technology Verification

Keysight Technologies, Inc. announced on the 25th that it is expanding its collaboration with Samsung Electronics' System LSI Business Division to verify dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) technology used in 5G modems.
Samsung Electronics is currently using Keysight’s 5G network emulation solutions to accelerate the development of its RF solution, Exynos RF 5510, as well as its latest 5G modem, Exynos Modem 5123, which supports DSS technology.
Mobile operators can deploy 5G NR services quickly and cost-effectively by using DSS to upgrade software on existing 4G LTE base stations and build hybrid 4G/5G base stations.
DSS supports flexible use of existing spectrum allocations in low, mid, and high frequency bands by dynamically switching between LTE and 5G NR ranges based on traffic demand.
Strategy Analytics forecasts that 5G service deployment will accelerate as mobile operators deploy DSS in their networks, with global 5G smartphone sales expected to reach 1 billion units by 2025.
Meanwhile, Keysight’s 5G network test solutions enable verification of multi-radio access technology (RAT) designs for both non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) modes across FR1 and mmWave (FR2) frequency bands on a single platform.
