Arm Partner Ships 6.4 Billion Chips in Q4 19

Evidence of increasing demand for embedded intelligence


There is a growing demand for intelligence on endpoint devices.

Arm announced on the 27th that shipments of Arm-based chips from its partners surpassed 6.4 billion units in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The 6.4 billion unit shipments represent the third-highest unit shipment volume over the past two years. Of these, Cortex-M processor shipments totaled 4.2 billion.

An Arm official explained this as “evidence that the demand for embedded intelligence in endpoint devices is increasing.”

To date, Arm partners have shipped more than 160 billion Arm-based chips, averaging over 22 billion per year over the past three years.
