Wire-to-wire general purpose product that prevents water, foam and dust ingress


On the 3rd, Molex Korea launched the 'Mini-Fit Sigma' shielded power connector, a wire-to-wire panel mount type that prevents the intrusion of water, foam, and dust.

MiniFit Sigma is a 4.20mm pitch connector that features a rubber shield cap on the back of the plug housing ring to protect the mating area from water, foam, and dust. It responds to 16~24 AWG wire standard requirements by applying the existing mini-fit TPA2 terminal.

The new connector offers an optional Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) mechanism, which secures the terminal in place after it is inserted into the housing.

This TPA not only ensures that the crimped wire harness is properly seated in the housing, but also prevents the terminals from falling out.

MiniFit Sigma has the following advantages: △It provides safety and stability in panel and housing joints as it is a panel mount type; △It reduces package size by eliminating the need for individual cable shields; and △It has a polarity key and polarization function for efficient and safe assembly.

It is suitable for applications such as commercial vehicles such as buses, trains, boats, emergency vehicles, refrigerated vehicles, and agricultural vehicles; home appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, and dishwashers; consumer products such as vending machines; and industrial automation such as robot arms, drives and conveyor line motors, and process control.
