LG Innotek Wins GM Quality Excellence Award for Fourth Time
The electrical components business surpassed KRW 1 trillion in annual sales in 2019.


LG Innotek announced on the 5th that it had received the 2019 GM Supplier Quality Excellence Award from General Motors (GM). This is the fourth time the company has received the award, following previous awards in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

The Quality Excellence Award is presented annually by GM to suppliers who meet its zero defect quality standards. LG Innotek plans to capitalize on this award by further strengthening its automotive components business, which it is fostering as a future growth engine.

Since 2010, LG Innotek has been supplying electric vehicle components to GM, including battery management systems (BMS), DC-DC converters, and electric vehicle communication controllers (EVCC).

Last year, LG Innotek obtained ASPICE (Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination) CL3 certification, a vehicle software development standard. In addition, we are mass-producing electric systems based on ISO26262, the international standard for vehicle functional safety, and AUTOSAR (AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture), the automotive software standard platform.

It is currently working as a domestic response committee of ISO/TC22/SC32 for the development of international standards for autonomous driving and as a member of the SOTIF (Safety Of The Intended Functionality) ISO 21448 standardization, and is also participating in the development of charging standards as a core member of the International Electric Vehicle Charging Association 'CharIN'.

LG Innotek recorded sales of 1.132 trillion won in its electric components business last year, more than doubling its sales in just five years from 532.5 billion won in 2014.
