21st General Election Vote Counting Broadcast to Be Test of 5G B2B Services

It is expected that the potential of 5G B2B services can be glimpsed through the live broadcast of the election vote counting, which is the focus of the entire nation's attention.
KT announced on the 14th that it will conduct a live broadcast using a 5G network for the 21st National Assembly general election broadcast together with SBS.
This live broadcast will be conducted using 5G MNG (Mobile News Gathering) equipment. This equipment is being introduced for the first time in Korea by LiveU, which signed a commercialization agreement for 5G-based video transmission business with KT in 2019.
Previously, broadcasters used satellite-based SNG (Satellite News Gathering) equipment utilizing mobile broadcast vans or LTE-based backpack-type MNG equipment. This is the first time that MNG equipment equipped with a 5G modem has been used.
To improve live broadcast quality, KT applies 'Premium Quality Control' technology through enterprise-dedicated 5G.
This technology prioritizes the processing of critical data over general data to ensure the quality of critical data services in situations where data traffic is high.
It can be utilized in industrial sectors sensitive to control and security, such as broadcasting, factories, and hospitals, where important data must not be lost during live broadcasts.
SBS plans to utilize this technology to visit some of its vote counting centers on the day of the general election and connect 5G live broadcasts to use for broadcasts, including on-site footage and interviews with officials. KT plans to demonstrate the stability of its enterprise-dedicated 5G service and premium quality control technology through this.
In addition to KT and SBS, SK Telecom and MBC announced last March that they would introduce 'T Live Caster,' a 5G-based video surveillance solution, for the general election vote counting broadcast.

SK Telecom First Applies AI-Based Network Operations at Gwanghwamun K-Pop Concert
SK Telecom announced that it applied an AI-based network operation system for the first time at a large-scale K-pop concert held in the Gwanghwamun area of Seoul on March 21st, managing communication quality throughout the event. Mobile data usage during the three hours before and after the concert reached 12.15TB, approximately doubling compared to the same time slot the previous weekend.
