ST Releases STM32Cube Software for Free on GitHub

STMicroelectronics announced on the 7th that it is publishing STM32Cube embedded software on GitHub.

Once all STM32Cube source code is published via GitHub, users can store, manage, track, and control code for over 1,000 types of STM32 Arm® Cortex®-M MCU products and heterogeneous Cortex-M/-A microprocessors.
GitHub features such as pull requests will promote collaborative development, allowing the community to leverage GitHub's change processing structure to propose alternative solutions and new features. Through GitHub Issues, a communication channel among developers, users can propose problems, share solutions, and participate in modifications.
In addition, switching to GitHub allows developers to receive updated versions of all software as soon as they are published, faster than existing MCU package updates.
Currently, all STM32Cube MCU packages, as well as MCU-standalone CMSIS drivers along with HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) code, are already available online. The remaining STM32Cube embedded software components are also scheduled to be added over the next few months.
All STM32Cube embedded software published on GitHub is available for free.
