Mutual cooperation in the construction and operation of AI Hub and AI data centers


The National Information Society Agency (NIA) and Gwangju Metropolitan City signed a business agreement on the 27th to foster the AI ​​industry in Korea.

The main contents of this agreement ceremony include the utilization of data from big data platforms (10) and centers (100) for the execution of the Gwangju AI Industry Convergence Cluster development project, the establishment of a foundation for accessing and utilizing public data, and mutual cooperation on the construction and operation of an AI hub and AI data center.

NIA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and ICT, serves as the dedicated agency for the big data platform and center construction project. It processes, analyzes, and distributes data produced and built by the public and private sectors through the platform, and supports the discovery of data-based innovative services. Additionally, it builds and opens various AI training datasets that can be utilized for the development of AI technologies and services.

Gwangju City expects that a data-based AI industry ecosystem will naturally develop centered in Gwangju by establishing a foundation that enables easy utilization of data from the big data platform built by NIA and AI training datasets from the AI ​​Hub.
