KT announced on the 2nd that it is launching '5G Smart Factory Vision,' a 5G machine vision service, together with Cognex.

The 5G Smart Factory Vision is a service that collects images using cameras installed in the factory and analyzes data to perform inspection tasks that were previously done by humans with the naked eye, using AI.

The new service, combining KT's ICT capabilities and Cognex's image recognition technology, provides features such as 5G-based real-time video monitoring, a cloud platform dedicated to smart factories, deep learning vision analysis, and mobile notifications of process status.

With the new service, cameras can be installed at desired locations based on a 5G network, and captured inspection images and collected data can be transmitted to a management platform in real time.

The collected information can be remotely checked by users through KT 5G Factory Makers, a platform dedicated to KT smart factories, and is automatically analyzed by AI to determine the operation of the machine.

To prevent data loss or theft, captured images are stored in the cloud, which can minimize operation and maintenance costs.

The 5G smart factory vision, capable of providing customized services according to various factory environments and processes, is It consists of a 'Rule-based Machine Vision' solution that performs inspection tasks according to defined rules, and a 'Deep Learning-based Machine Vision' solution capable of inspecting unstructured items.
